Complete with messages of support from their trip, Team 26 cyclists returned to Fairfield Hills late Tuesday night. The riders left Newtown Saturday, journeying more than 100 miles a day to bring a message of hope and love to Washington, DC. Cyclists said the vans were decorated during their stay in Baltimore.
Riders said they felt like their message had been heard. At a press conference in Washington earlier Tuesday, Rep. Elizabeth Esty cheered the cyclists on, serving as the emcee for Team 26's welcome ceremony, according to the Danbury News-Times. Esty said she was "confident that we will achieve meaningful change."
