Readers' Choice: Who Makes Newtown's Best Burgers?

Do you have a favorite, little appreciated, burger joint in town?

The best burger in town—everyone has an opinion on it, so we’re thinking this week’s Readers’ Choice contest in Newtown is sure to generate a lot of great discussion on Patch.

Based on what you tell us, we’ll declare our 2012 Readers’ Choice winner in the category at 12 p.m. Friday. What's extra-cool about this week's contest is that the Bethel winner will be invited to participate in a Best Burger in CT contest that will run later this summer!

Please remember our and note especially that telling us why you love your favorite burger (juiciness, presentation, toppings, atmosphere, staff?) by posting a rating and review on its directory listing  is even more important in determining a winner than casting a poll vote.

Don’t see your favorite burger spot listed? Tell us in the comments below. And if you’re a business owner who hasn’t

Wasting no more time, here’s our list, please click on the listing to post a rating for Readers’ Choice:

  • 100 Churchill Cafe

Let us know if we left anyone out, and we will add them to the list and the poll!

When you cut and paste you have to change the name of the town!
Heather Elken June 04, 2012 at 10:23 AM
I think you should add McGuires to the list.

Had a fantastic "Juicy Lucy" burger at Pub25 American Grille. The service was great, the food was great, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be going back as the bartender was so obnoxious. Yelling "Shut up!" to patrons (jokingly, but we didn't need to hear it across the room) and cranking the music WAY up. It was 12-noon, not 12-midnight. It's too bad. The burger was so good.

I am amazed the 100 Churchill Cafe didnt make the list... Beer ad Burger 9.95... Is and has been the best burger in town for decades....

I think you should add One Eye Pig also to your list! My vote would be: First-one eye pig, Second-Maguires
Pege Cyr June 04, 2012 at 12:44 PM
I also think you should add The ne Eyed Pig to your list - They have a GREAT burger

One of the classic burgers that has been around town and hasn't changed in a decade is the one at The Inn at Newtown. I understand it's their most popular menu item. Juicy, served with crispy tabasco onion rings...Mmmmm..makes me want one right now.

Burgers are awesome at Pub 25.Have you tried their Gorgonzola chips? Very dangerous! They are very nice to accomodate my sons food allergies too! Thanks Todd!

Whoops! Thanks for catching that!
Christine Rose (Editor) June 05, 2012 at 04:54 AM
Five more restaurants have been added to the list. Make sure they know so they can catch-up, having lost a day.
Pege Cyr June 05, 2012 at 05:23 PM
I don't see any added to the list???
Pege Cyr June 05, 2012 at 06:17 PM

Okay, it took me a while to get an answer from Patch, but here is what we can do. I have included a new poll, and we can all promote the heck out of it until Friday. There is still time to elect your favorite, and remember, comments on their Patch listing is counts towards the win, so it is still completely possible for the new places to win. If there is no Patch listing, leave your comments here. Thanks for your patience!
Sam Mihailoff June 06, 2012 at 10:45 PM
poll is invalid you would need to "zero out" all votes and begin again
Newtown's Finest June 07, 2012 at 05:49 PM
This site has gone to complete crap since Hoa left in January. The new editor should probably spend less time thinking about polls and burgers and more time writing actual news. What a joke
Sam Mihailoff June 07, 2012 at 08:53 PM
too funny...editor actually had to consult with Patch Central to be advised how to proceed
Jessica June 08, 2012 at 01:35 PM
She does write actual news. Give her a break. She's doing a great job. Cranky much? Does it always have to be a political war on here?
