President Obama Lands in Connecticut

Obama is to meet with the families of victims killed in Friday's shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and to thank first responders, according to the White House.

President Barack Obama has landed this afternoon at the Bradley Air National Guard base in East Granby, CT, about 60 miles northeast of Newtown, for his scheduled appearance tonight in Newtown.

Obama is to meet with the families of victims killed in Friday's shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and to thank first responders, according to the White House.

"The President will also speak at an interfaith vigil for families of the victims as well as families from Sandy Hook Elementary School scheduled for 7 p.m.," the White House said.

The president, in a motorcade of about 20 vehicles, has left the airport.

There are no words or gestures in this world to bring back these innocent Angels and their very own Guardian Angels, the same who also died trying to protect them from harm. May God have mercy help guide them through this tragedy. Give them the comfort and strength just knowing that all their souls are at peace where we will all meet someday, at Heavens Gate. May the Lord bless you all...

My heart is full of pain. It's almost like I lost my own child. I can't believe someone would be so cruel and evil minded to take a precious child's life. Everytime I watch the news or listen to radio I just break down cause I know this could've happen to my child or anywhere in the US. May God give these families the strength to continue to deal with this horrible crime and to heal all of America's broken hearts. America don't take life for granted for time is short we can be here one minute and gone the next!! Sending lots of love and prayers all the way from LaGrange, Ga to Newtown CT !! May God Bless & Heal all of you!!

God seems to work in strange ways. Why would he allow these small children to be killed? Is there a higher calling for them?
Da Bandit December 17, 2012 at 01:07 pm
All of us mourn the loss of these small children and the ones who did their best to protect them from harm. Bringing who represents whom into this is really not a concern of those in Newtown right now. Photo ops are not the time.

it is with deepest sympathy that I write these words of comfort. To all the families and friends of the loved ones who are gone on before us, just know that GOD in all His glory is looking down and comforting you. As Paul reminded us "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him." 2 Cor 2:8&9 KJV. Your children, parents and friends is in the arms of Almighty GOD and he is welcoming them into his kingdom. Some day you too will join your loved ones and will share lots of hugs and kisses. God Bless you and you are constantly and will always be in my prayers. Be bless. Sharon from Georgia.

Each one of the children and Adults were a special breed. Something evil took them away. God didn't do this. God just took the pain away and laid them to rest in his arms.

Why is it the panel for this event does not include a single advocate for gun-owners' rights? WithRead More all due respect to Chief McNamara, why does the panel no include a person who can speak to gun safety from a gun-owning civilian's perspective? ML, you claim that the assembled folks "do not offer judgements about gun ownership" but they are not including a single voice that can offer perspective on gun ownership. I have been to "education" sessions sponsored by Meg's March for Change and they are one-sided indoctrinations into gun control advocacy. >>>> I was in Hartford for the public hearings in January when both Meg and March co-founder Nancy gave their personal testimonies and they all but threatened the legislators on the panel with election day retribution for all those who did not tow the gun-control line of thinking (i.e. March and CAGV). To suggest that Meg "does not offer judgements" is fallacious and disingenuous.

I'm o n Butterfield. No sightings here. Any specifics as to her location?
Carol Chapman June 19, 2013 at 09:23 am
Norma has been spotted this morning at the intersection of Kenan and Currituck. The red leash isRead More still attached. She was trying to eat a dead squirrel on Currituck. Very skittish, but still in the neighborhood (yay). Please watch for her. My husband and sister-in-law (who first spotted her on Currituck this morning) were unable to get near her. She's in the woods, heading toward Butterfield. Her foster mom is on the scene now. Folks in the neighborhood, please watch for her and call 203-942-4008 if you see her.
Carol Chapman June 19, 2013 at 11:20 am
Carolee Mason (Newtown's Animal Control Officer) is watching her from her car at the moment, armedRead More with catfood to tempt her closer. The foster mom is on her way there again, this time with chicken, and Laura is on her way with hamburger. Problem is, this dog is VERY shy, skittish and quick to run away.
