[Photos] Sandy Hook Promise Press Conference

Some of the parents of children who were killed in the Dec. 14 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting join other residents and elected officials as they seek to effect change locally, nationally and globally.

Sandy Hook Promise took their message to the public on Jan. 14, 2013 — one month to the day from the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that claimed the life of 20 children and six educators and served as the catalyst for the organization.

Formerly known as Newtown United, the group is dedicated to common-sense changes that will prevent another tragedy from ever happening again.

Here's a report on the press conference:

I recognize the little ones whose pictures they are holding and send my sympathy again and again. This must not ever happen again. Stop the gun madness.

I didn't notice DebraLee Hovey in those photos. Surely she was invited along with all of the other Republican politicians that managed to get photos taken and posted? Can someone tell me why she was not there?

It will happen again, because taking away guns or banning will not stop the crazy people for getting them. Why do people not understand this?

Take the guns!!! It's the only way! Such a horrible thing...so horrible....horrible...horrible. Guns are evil. Evil. EVIL. never mind the facts and what really happened. Just take the guns please!! In fact...why stop there. Lets just ban everything and lock every place, street, events.... Lock it all down. I'm just so scared of everything. Please stop the madness. Please....so evil. Evil.
