Directed by police and under a cloudy sky, hundreds of Newtown residents—and friends and family of 6-year-old Jessica Rekos—trekked to St. Rose of Lima Church Tuesday morning for one of many funerals this week.
Rekos was one of 20 children and 6 adults slain in Friday's Sandy Hook shooting.
Lines to enter the church stretched out the door and into the parking lot, where mourners sobbed and comforted one another. A memorial stood outside the house of worship, across from the main entrance and adorned with candles and flowers.
