Play an Instrument? Give us a call!

If you are a budding, weekend, polished, or professional musician and you live in the local area, you should give CTV-21 a call.

For the past few months we have been polishing an idea to create a local talent showcase by inviting local performers into our studio here in Newtown to share their musical talents with the local community.

How does it work? Do you just show up and play?  Almost; this first step is to call (203) 304-4050 and schedule a time to stop by. We want potential performers to get comfortable with the performance space. This also gives us a chance to ask some questions about your talents and any special needs, equipment, warm up you'll need.

The next step is to return for a rehearsal performance.  We call them auditions, but if you've been invited to this level you're already in. The auditions are as much for us to practice as they are for you. Our CTV-21 Interns are refining their skills (call 203-304-4050 to join!) in camera, graphics, audio, and directing so they can help us create a great local program.

From the rehearsal you'll get a YouTube video of your session, and we'll add you to the list of performers who are also ready to go forward with an actual taping. Schedules being what they are, depending on your availability, you could be back in the studio in as little as a few weeks.

Most acts that stop by the studio are no larger than a trio, and have ranged in age from 8 to 72. The one thing they all had in common was a desire to share their love of performing with a local audience.

What are you waiting for? Call CTV-21 now and let us know what you play.
