We want to know which banks in Newtown are your favorite. Vote in the poll below and tell us in the comments and in the Places area of our site!

This is our second poll where we ask you - the reader - what you think about local establishments in town.

We heard from many of you - and we loved your enthusiasm and your comments. Keep it coming!

This time we want your opinion on banks.

Let us know your thoughts on their rates, their professionalism, the friendliness of the staff. Does your bank offer any cool perks?

Here are the choices:

We will use a combination of the poll voting, the commenting, and the comments in the Places section of the directory when picking a winner. The winner of the Readers' Choice contest will be crowned Friday at noon.

Voting will end at 9 a.m. Friday. Good luck everyone!

2 Words. Bill Hart. Newtown Savings bank is the best. Enough said.

Personally I have found Newtown Savings Bank to be my personal favorite with over 28 years of service from them. This poll should be followed by the worst banking - my vote would be for Bank of America ( not necessarily the local branch but the B of Am as an institution)!

Newtown has 9,000 households. How do all these banks survive here?

Savings Bank of Danbury has been the most helpful, supportive, friendliest bank I've ever known. They go above and beyond community friendly. I switched to them from trying 2 other local banks and have never looked back.

I do, however, have a problem with a poll that starts at 5:00 AM and ends at 9:00 AM. Most of the time I don't go online that early.

Nothing going on locally??? It's become worse than the News Times with regard to local information. Is it a Hearst Corp offshoot???

Union Savings Bank is heads above the rest. The staff consistiently goes above and beyond in everyway possible. I also appreciate the number of women in Sr. Managment positions. That is something lacking in other banks.

Bank of America... hands down, what other bank has 1 ATM machine available and its OUTSIDE... what a joke!
