Museum Invites Local Families To An “EverWonderful” Day

Newtown’s EverWonder Children’s Museum presents first ever Family Day event.

EverWonder Children’s Museum, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization aiming to open a children’s museum in Newtown, will be giving the community a taste of what the museum will have to offer when it hosts its inaugural EverWonderful Family Day event on Saturday, Sept. 8.

EverWonderful Family Day is a fun-filled event where children can participate inscience and art activities, as well as see a variety of live performances.

“The focus of EverWonder Children’s Museum is to promote curiosity and the enjoyment of learning in children. This focus helped to drive our planning for our inaugural event,” said Kristin Chiriatti, president of the Museum’s Board of Directors. “We want children to walk away excited about what they just did and saw — there will be something for everyone.”

The event will feature activity stations, allowing for artistic expression, creativity, and learning. Planned activities include Foaming Monsters, Sound Sandwiches, Membranophones, and Pool Noodle Robots. Special demonstrations including storytelling, sing-a-longs and science experiments will round out the day’s events.

“Right now, our goal is to get the community excited about the Museum. In our infancy, we are essentially a museum without a building, so we must bring the museum to the community. We have dubbed this effort our "Beyond the Building Campaign,” Chiriatti said.

The EverWonderful Family Day follows on the heels of the Museum’s successful series of summer science workshops for young children at the C.H. Booth Library. The Board of Directors plans to hold numerous events to continue to build awareness of their efforts to bring a children’s museum to the area, while also continuing to work hard at raising the needed funds for a permanent home for the Museum.

Sponsors for the event include Vasi’s Gymnastics, Wesley Learning Center, and HappyFamily Baby Food.

The event will be located at , 45 Main Street in Newtown, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets for the event will be sold at the door for $5 each or $20 per family. Children under age 1 will be admitted free. Healthy, nut-free refreshments will be available for purchase.

EverWonder Children’s Museum is an emerging children’s museum in Newtown aimed at children through the age of 12. EverWonder Children’s Museum currently consists of a Board of Directors and countless volunteers all dedicated to opening a children’s museum which will serve children and families in the greater Newtown area. Once opened, the Museum will house hands-on interactive exhibits, an art room, live performance area, and a space for visitors to see science demonstrations.

G, apparently you did not watch the Benghazi hearings recently on CSpan. I did, and the whistleRead More blowers made it abundantly clear that there was never any question that it was an "ATTACK" by terrorists, and had NOTHING to do with a "demonstration" over a lame video, as lied about by S. Rice, Obama and HRC! They concocted this story because the truth, that Al Qaeda is NOT "defeated" or neutralized, as O claimed, would have been inconvenient for the election. It is utterly reprehensible for a president to heartlessly leave our men behind, to send NO aid or support, if only to get the bodies out--and under other presidents and the military as it has always been--you "DON'T leave your fellow soldiers (or diplomats) behind!" O gave (or assented to) TWO orders to "Stand Down" and NOT fly in with aid from Tripoli or Sicily! And G, what is your opinion of a president who condones the TARGETING of conservatives, with thuggish, illegal tactics of INTIMIDATION by the IRS!?

Really? Your "blog" is a collection of "cut-and-pastes" from some otherRead More right-wing source? And you expect to be taken seriously? Time to grow up and form your own opinion, MAC. Have a nice weekend.
