Llodra Lifts Weight At CrossFit Hook'd Grand Opening / Fundraiser

The business celebrated its Barbells for Boobs fundraiser Sunday.

Crossfit Hook'd, Newtown's newest exercise spot, celebrated their grand opening Sunday -- and First Selectman Pat Llodra got in the spirit, lifting this kettlebell as part of the business's Barbells for Boobs fundraiser.

Started by Sandy Hook resident Lauren Milano, Crossfit Hook'd offers athletic workouts and training. The business -- a 3,000-square-foot facility with five trainers on staff -- opened its doors in August.

The Barbells for Boobs fundraiser began as a CrossFit affiliate program to raise money for breast cancer detection services for those who don't qualify for assistance elsewhere.
