2. Norwalk Oyster Festival - Norwalk
Where/When: Norwalk Seaport Association, Sept. 9 - 11
Why Go: Join this annual festival and enjoy live music, family activities and plenty of fresh food, including of course oysters.

3. Remembrance Sunday and Pancake Breakfast - Oxford
Where/When: The Oxford United Church of Christ Congregational, Sun, 10am
Why Go: Remember the families of 9/11 and stay for a pancake breakfast after the service hosted by the youth group.

4. Apple Festival - Monroe
Where/When: St. Peter's Episcopal Church On The Green, Sat, Sun, 10am - 5pm
Why Go: Enjoy crafts, food, face painting and games at this annual event.

Why Go: Buy jewelry that benefits women in Uganda.

6. Croptoberfest - Southbury
Where/When: Heritage Resort & Conference Center, Sept. 9 - 11
Why Go: Bring those photos you've been meaning to put into an album and come to this 3-day scrapbooking event.

7. 9-11 Memorial Service - Dodgingtown
Where/When: 66 Dodgingtown Rd, Sun, 8:15am
Why Go: Dodgingtown resident Howard Lasher is hosting a memorial service to remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001 at the site of the U.S. flag painted on a row of trees on his property.

8. Steve Martin's PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE - Newtown
Where/When: Town Players' Little Theatre, Sept. 9, 10, 8pm - 9:30pm
Why Go: Come enjoy Steve Martin's comedy set in 1904 Paris.
