A customer gave me this broken down cottage style small chest of drawers to make it “look great!” Well after some repairs to strengthen and improve it, I did a very light, “beachy-looking” striped paint finish. After painting a primer coat and lightly sanding it, I painted a soft blue base-coat. After that dried, I methodically painted a Ben Moore “dove white” top-coat and striped it with a graining comb. The result is subtle but effective and gives this piece a new lease on life. I added some glass knobs and lined the small top “jewelry drawer” with dark blue velvet. I’ve got to say…it looks great on this piece! I almost didn’t think I could pull it off!
