poem for Newton

In Memory of the innocent chrildren of Newtown

He took their lives with a gun
Twenty children are now one
Someone’s daughter someone’s son
Ages six and seven in grade one
Off to school and having fun
Their young lives’ had just begun
What made him do this?
Why didn’t he care?
This is a burden we all share
We don’t know the answers
We don’t know the cause
All we can do is take a moment to pause
And
Hug your children close to your heart
Bow you head in prayer to start
Pray for the young lives’ that were taken away
And pray that their families may heal one day
Pray that no further massacres we see
And that children can play worry free!
