I Hate Hamlet Final Weekend at Town Players of Newtown

Town Players invite you to their final weekend of I Hate Hamlet.

From Town Players of Newtown--

Hot young TV actor Andrew Rally (Stephen Saxton) is between job and is about to play Hamlet as part of Shakespeare in the Park, a part wrangled for him by his agent Lillian (Marguerite Foster). The trouble is, Andrew hates Hamlet. In addition to his fear of Shakespeare, Andrew must contend with his girlfriend Deirdre's (Jordan Rose Lee) chastity, his wacky realtor Felicia (Linda Gilmore) and pushy West Coast producer friend Gary (Ward Whipple).

Can the ghost of John Barrymore (Rob Pawlikowski), the greatest Hamlet of his time, convince Andrew that playing Hamlet is a part of his destiny?

Reviewing the show for the Newtown Bee, Elizabeth Young says, "[T]he Town Players' current summer fare proves to be the perfect antidote to summer doldrums and a delightful evening of theater." Fellow reviewer Joanne Rochman raves, "While it would be easy to imagine the goings-on in the production performed 20 years ago on Broadway, the Town Players cast does such a terrific job that one forgets about the past and enjoys every moment of the comic situations going on onstage."
Final performances are this weekend - Friday and Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday, July 20, at 2 PM.
