Newtown Earth Day Festival

From kids' activities, live music, tasty food, and an environmental maze to a sunrise service, litter pick-up, and a vendor fair, Newtown's 3rd Annual Earth Day Festival is a great day for helping our community become a bit more aware of being "green".

This year we are proud to be supporting the Middle School's "Men in Green". These six budding environmentalists launched a local tree-planting project that won them the national 2009-2010 Lexus Eco Challenge. Come meet them at the festival and help them with their efforts to distribute 1,000 trees to be planted locally.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Not only are the "Men in Green" planting trees, but they are putting some of their prize money back into our schools to help support earthy friendly programs – possibly composting or even solar panels. This year's Earth Day Festival will be complementing their efforts and contributing additional funds to support our schools.
