Newtown Celtic Fest

Newtown is going Irish…in May. Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural Newtown Celtic Fest, being held on Saturday, May 19 at 3 p.m. at the historic Newtown (Pa.) Theatre.

The event will feature three popular bands, Irish dancers, bagpipers and a cash bar serving Guinness and Harp beer. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by visiting www.newtowncelticfest.com or the Newtown Theatre box office.

Featured performers include RUNA, Timlin & Kane, Birmingham Six and the Fitzpatrick Dancers. Ticketholders can arrive at 2 p.m. and enjoy an Irish beer at an outdoor cash bar before as well as throughout the show. The bar is open to ticketholders only; must be 21 to enter and drink.

RUNA brings a contemporary experience to traditional and more recently composed Celtic material. The duo of Timlin and Kane has played to great acclaim throughout the East Coast for more than 38 years. Birmingham Six mixes traditional, rebel, contemporary and original Irish music to form its sound. The Bucks County-based Fitzpatrick School of Irish Dance is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Irish culture through the traditional art of Irish step dancing.

The Celtic Fest is presented by and benefits Pickering Manor, Newtown’s premier senior-living facility.
