 Newtown  See map

The slam is back! Young poets from all around Connecticut are gathering at the NHS Lecture Hall to voice their talents.

Bread from Chabaso Bakery in New Haven as well as tea and coffee will be served during the break, and live music will be performed. Only 150 tickets will be sold, and spots fill up fast! Purchase your ticket for $3 from one of the following poets who will be performing at the event:

Sophie Dillon

Maggie Kearney

Evan Boyd Knoll

Julie Ficks

Sera Pisani

Kate Bartel

Tickets can also be purchased from Lee Keylock at keylockl@newtown.k12.ct.us

The audience is just as important as the performers at any poetry slam, so come support your local youth! All profits will benefit the Brave New Voices Slam Team on their trip to San Francisco this summer!

Exactly why do you need to read these reports Elmer Davis? The cause of death was gunshot wounds.Read More Why do you need more than that, and why do you feel your curiosity for details outweigh the need for privacy? I agree with Aurelia and support her. You're acting like the Connecticut Council on Freedom is a government agency. It is a non-profit foundation and the quote from James Smith is only an opinion. It certainly does NOT carry any more weight than anyone else's, including mine, the victim's families, and the vast majority of decent people living in this town.
