Winter Blast Expected Wednesday into Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch.

With the sun shining brightly and highs in the mid 40s today, winter seems on the way out. But the National Weather Service is expecting a wintry mix beginning Wednesday morning and stretching into Thursday.

According to the Winter Storm Watch, accumulations of 3 to 5 inches of snow, sleet and freezing rain may cover portions of interior southern Connecticut and the lower Hudson Valley. Temperatures should be in the mid 30s.

Snow may begin falling Wednesday morning and continue into the afternoon, mixing with sleet and freezing rain into the evening, then changing to all rain by Thursday morning, forecasters said.
