Viewfinder: Everybody Loves Ice Cream!

Ferris Acres Creamery had a near perfect spring opening day to begin serving ice cream for the season.

It was a gorgeous day at Ferris Acres Creamery as the first scoops of ice cream were served on Tuesday, opening day for the creamery. Ice cream lovers of all ages lined up to get their ice cream from the working dairy farm that makes its own ice cream. 

This picturesque farm has been in the Ferris family since 1864. It is located at 144 Sugar St, Route 302, in Newtown. Spring hours are Sunday through Thursday, 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
