Reward Offered for Info on Car That Hit Sandy Hook Dog
After a May 29 incident killed a Sandy Hook dog, a website is offering $250 for information.
Sandy Hook residents were saddened to hear the story of a dog hit by a car on Washington Street in Sandy Hook at about 8:10 p.m. May 29. Now a website launched by a resident is offering a $250 reward for information on the car or its driver.
A Sandy Hook resident shared links to site on Patch last week, mentioning a beige-colored Volkswagen convertible with a dark top. (The site goes into more detail and provides a photo of a similar-looking car.) According to police reports, the car was headed northbound when witnesses said it hit the dog.
"He was only six," said the website, describing the dog as a small red terrier. "He ran across the street to say hello to a Yorkie."
Police encouraged residents with any information to contact Officer Joseph Michael at 203-426-5841.
