The Newtown Christmas Tree lighting at Rams Pasture has been postponed due to the rain, according to Newtown's Parks and Recreation Department.
The tree lighting will now be Wednesday, Dec. 11, starting at 6:30 p.m. with the lighting of the tree at 7:00 p.m.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for rain tonight turning into sleet after 9:00 p.m.
