Despite the fact that we had a virtually snow-free winter, Newtown's streets have still taken a beating over the winter and with spring comes pothole season.
Potholes appear when the pavement cracks, moisture builds up in the crack and then freezes and thaws. It's a problem that the town really can't avoid. Potholes can be a year-long problem but are especially noticable in the spring after streets are plowed and sanded over the winter.
Do you have bad potholes in your neighborhood? Post the locations here and if you can, snap a picture and upload it here too (but be safe while taking pictures!).
Public Works can't fix what they aren't aware of, so a running list of potholes can help them locate problem spots.
And Happy Spring!
