Seen Around Town: Finn, A Gorgeous Canine Survivor

When he was spotted outside Village Perk in Sandy Hook Monday afternoon, he created quite a stir. Employees marvelled: who was the particularly picturesque dog outside the window?

This big, beautiful longhair German Shepherd's name is Finn, and he might not be standing here today if not for the work of Newtown's dedicated vets.

Owner Connor Quinn, of Brewster, took Finn to Newtown Veterinary Specialists after his dog suffered from bloating, and reports the operation was a success.

"They saved his life over there," he says. "He wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for them."

The 5-year-old got his staples taken out today, and despite the resulting shaved patches on his legs, looked healthy and frisky as he hopped into Connor's car.
