Newtown Says Thanks to Surrounding Towns

The families of Newtown shooting victims sent posters of thanks to surrounding communities and first responders Wednesday.

Danbury and other towns were thanked Wednesday for their support by the families of victims in the Newtown shooting.

Families created posters for members of the fire departments, police, EMS and hospital that said, "Sandy Hook Loves First Responders."

"I was amazed they did it," said PJ Prunty, who handles community relations in the office of Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton. Prunty received the posters and had the job of distributing them to city employees. One of the parents delivered the posters and Prunty said he was surprised.

A second poster says, "Sandy Hook Loves the Greater Danbury Area."

By 2 p.m., almost every office in City Hall had a poster on it. Earlier Wednesday the same posters were delivered to Ridgefield Town Hall.
