The Duck Race is the Lion Club's biggest fund raiser all year, and the locals turn out in support. Walter Schweikert said that there are usually 3,000 to 4,000 who come to see the ducks poured into the Pootatuck River. Funds raised will be donated to finding cures for heart disease, juvenile diabetes and more.
Besides the actual Duck Race, raffle tickets are being sold for a 1968 Mustang convertible.
The first Duck Race was held 12 years ago and has been a popular event ever since.
