Family-friendly events for the week of March 16 - 22

Look for the kids’ planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. We want to hear from you!

1.
Where/When: , Thu - Sat, 7:30pm; Sun, 2:30pm
Why Go: Take the whole family to see a fabulous musical starring not only the students from the high school but also from other public schools in Newtown.

Pricing: Adults, $12; Students and senior citizens, $8

2. , Woodbury
Where/When: , Sat, 1pm - 4pm
Why Go: The festival features tours of the Sugar House, maple candy-making, art demonstrations, children’s crafts and face painting.
Pricing: $5 per person; $15 per family; $30 groups of 8 or more

3. , Oxford
Where/When: , Mon, 2pm - 6pm
Why Go: Bring your preK - fifth grader to make this doorknob hanger.
Pricing: Free. First come, first serve.

4. , Newtown
Where/When: , Sun, noon - 4pm
Why Go: Get a tour of the Matthew Curtiss House and see a demonstration of spinning wool.
Pricing: Free; donations are welcome

5. , Newtown
Where/When: , Sat, 8am - 1:45pm
Why Go: This event is open to all parents in the area. Choose from several different workshops and topics. Program available for kids from ages 3 to 11.
Pricing: $5 for adults. Children are free.
