Got Ducks?

If not, then you're missing out on good fun and a chance to win $2,000. Plus, every duck sold helps the Newtown Lion's Club in its ongoing efforts to support the community.

That's right, the Great Pootatuck Duck Race and Town Festival will take place Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in Sandy Hook Village.

The event, sponsored by Newtown Lion's Club and hosted by the Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (SHOP), will feature entertainment, exhibitors and food. Admission is free.

Ducks will cost you $5 each. They're being sold at Queen Street Cleaners, Bagel Delight and the C.H. Booth Library. You'll also be able to buy them at booths throughout Sandy Hook Village on race day.

The duck race winner gets $2,000, and there are 20 prizes in all valued at more than $4,000.

The forecast for Saturday is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high near 72 and a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
