Freezing Cold Sledding at Treadwell Park

Brave souls bundle up and hit the hill for some fun in the snow.

It was so cold that plastic saucer-style sleds were literally cracking as kids rode them down the hill at Treadwell Park on Friday afternoon.

But even that couldn't keep a small group of kids and their parents from having fun in this first major snowfall of the New Year. With Newtown schools closed Friday due to the storm, the families bundled up to brave the elements—wind chill temps below zero!

It was so cold, in fact, that my iPhone shut down and my camera wouldn't turn on. Fortunately, I was able to snap a few pics before the phone shut off.

If you took some pics from your fun in the snow, share them in the community photo gallery.
