Chamber of Commerce of Newtown Hosts 4th Annual Wine Tasting

Wine Tasting at McLaughlin's Vineyards


A JOINT NETWORKING EVENT FOR THE AREA’S LEADING BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS 

NEWTOWN, CT May 18, 2012– The Chamber of Commerce of Newtown will be hosting the Annual Wine Tasting networking event on Thursday, May 31st from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at McLaughlin Vineyards, 14 Albert’s Hill Road in Sandy Hook. Members from the Newtown, Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Monroe and Tribury Chambers are invited and encouraged to attend. Other organizations and individuals who have been invited are the Economic Development Commission, Newtown BNI, SCORE, Newtown Rotary Club, Newtown Lion’s Club and Pat Llodra, First Selectman of Newtown.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample McLaughlin Vineyards’ finest wines, while casually networking with the area’s leading business organizations. Food donations will be provided by Anthony’s Lake Club, Big Y, Butcher’s Best Market, Caraluzzi’s Newtown Market, Mona Lisa Restaurant, My Place Restaurant, Newtown Deli & Catering, Newtown Pizza Palace, One Eyed Pig, Sal e Pepe Contemporary Italian Bistro, The Inn at Newtown, UK Gourmet, and more.

The relaxing atmosphere will be complimented by floral arrangements from Newtown Florist and a slideshow in the tasting room highlighting the vineyard. Guests will be invited to participate in tractor tours of the gorgeous property and a raffle drawing to win a fresh arrangement from Newtown Florist.

 Call Alice Baye at 426-2695 and RSVP by Tuesday, May 29th. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, space permitting. A cash wine bar will be available after the wine tasting.

 McLaughlin Vineyards is a year-round farm dedicated to the production of quality wines and maple syrup in a natural environment. Located in Southern Connecticut, the 160 acre historic operation includes 15 acres of vineyards, a 2500 case winery, hiking trails, wine education seminars, a sugar house, sugar maple trees, and even a 50 acre wildlife and bald eagle sanctuary.

The Chamber of Commerce of Newtown is dedicated to the promotion and encouragement of Newtown’s business community.  It actively supports the expansion of business opportunities on behalf of its members through marketing, networking programs, community-sponsored events, and involvement is local economic development.
