What type of Business do you feel Newtown Needs?

Many folks are of the opinion that small business is the root structure for economic growth, I am one of them.  I owned my own business for 8 years outside of Newtown and unfortunately had to give it up due to a number of economic factors.   I hope to be in a position someday to begin another business but this time within in my home town, Newtown Ct.  I am interested to learn what types of business you feel would be welcomed in our town?  Here are a few of my suggestions:

·         A Water sports/Marine retail store offering engine repairs, fiberglass repairs, Dock construction, boat storage, retail goods, etc.  It would also be nice to have a section to provide everything a fishing enthusiast could want.  In the off months possibly adding snow removal equipment, ATV’s, snowmobiles and more.  The goal would be to support family activities such as boating, fishing and other activities that can be enjoyed right here in Newtown.

·         A warm comfortable lounge from the era of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. An after dinner social place gathering place offering tasteful music from the Rat Pack era. Authentic New York Style pastries and other finger foods a full bar, coffee selection and possibly a cigar lounge.  The goal would be to provide a place where folks can gather with friends, meet business associates to relax and enjoy their favorite beverage while listening to classic music.
