The Watermark Announces New HR Director

The Watermark at East Hill is pleased to announce the recent addition of Wendy Leftwich as Director of Human Resources for the retirement community, located at 611 East Hill Road in Southbury.

Leftwich, who holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Psychology, has more than two decades of experience in human resources. Prior to joining The Watermark, she held a variety of HR positions in Texas and Connecticut before ultimately making the transition to senior living earlier this year.

“I was inspired to begin working with seniors by my aunt, who lives in a similar community down in Florida,” said Leftwich. “Seeing how a positive and friendly environment has allowed her to thrive in her later years really encouraged me to find an employer with a similar mission, something The Watermark takes very seriously.”

Leftwich’s responsibilities include managing and monitoring employee relations and performance, while providing support to department directors. She will also play an active role in the hiring, screening and staffing process for future employees at The Watermark at East Hill.

A native of Pittsburgh, Leftwich has lived in Connecticut for the past 17 years. She currently resides in Southbury with her husband and their beloved cocker spaniel, Halle.
