Sacred Heart Church Provides Notable Donation to Southbury Fuel Bank
SACRED HEART CHURCH OF SOUTHBURY recently presented a $10,000 donation to the Southbury Fuel Bank. Father Joe Donnelly, pastor of Sacred Heart stated, “This donation is made from a bequest by the late Francis Brewer, a long-time parishioner. Mr. Brewer left a substantial bequest to Sacred Heart Parish ‘to be used for its work with needy families in their Outreach Programs.’ We are happy to make use of it to help those in need of fuel assistance here in Southbury. The Southbury Fuel Bank offers assistance to Southbury residents throughout each year, and it is one of the charities our parish regularly supports every year. During 20123, the Fuel Bank helped approximately 225 households. The Fuel Bank's funding comes entirely from donations.”
Participants in the donation presentation were (l to r) Sacred Heart Finance Council members Nancy Langrock and Jennifer Enger; Town of Southbury Social Services Director Sandy Saren; Father Joe Donnelly, pastor of Sacred Heart; Sacred Heart Finance Council members Mary Korsu, Dennis Von Ende and Jean Brickey.
