Newtown Choral Society Sets Concert Date, Welcomes New Members,

Mary Andreotta, director of the Newtown Choral Society, has announced that Home for the Holidays will be the theme of the choir’s winter concert set for Sunday, December 8. Drawing on contemporary pieces and classics, the group will sing Holst’s "Christmas Day" and Rutter’s "Christmas Night," as well as music from “Home Alone.”  Eight other pieces will complete the concert. There are openings in all voices and members from all area towns are welcome.  Rehearsals are Wednesday at The Newtown Middle School and begin September 11, 2013.  For more information on membership, call choir president Laura E.
