Newtown Choral Society From Coldplay to Cole Porter

The Newtown Choral Society will present music from Cole Porter to Coldplay during its spring concert at 3:30 p.m. Sunday April 27, in The Meeting House, 31 Main St.

The concert is called The Music of the Night and will be under the direction of Mary Andreotta and accompanied by Susan Anthony-Klein.

Tickets are $10 or $8 for students and seniors and available at the door.

From Barber’s “Sure on this Shining Night,” to the rock band Fun’s “Some Night,” the choir will explore the fascination that night has held for one composer after another.

The choir will also present Billy Joel’s “River of Dreams,” “In the Wee Small hours of the Morning,” Porter’s “In the Still of the Night,” Elton John’s “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?,” Van Morrison’s “Moondance,” and, of course “The Music of the Night” by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The Newtown Choral Society welcomes members from all area towns.

More formation about the concert and future membership is available by emailing lel-ncs@se-ltd.com.
