Newtown Book Sale Set up: 7,500 Boxes of Books, 2 Trucks, 8 Men, 2 Teams of Athletes, 16 Pizzas

Over 7,500 boxes of books were moved out of storage and into the Reed Intermediate School in Newtown Wednesday, July 3rd as volunteers begin setting up the big book sale.  The book sale doesn't start until July 13, but it takes almost a full week to set up. Things got off to a great start because The Friends of the C. H. Booth Library had the help of the Newtown High School Cheerleaders and the NHS Girls Field Hockey Team. They more than earned a pizza lunch for their full day's work. Thanks to them and to many of the seasoned volunteers in the Friends, when the sale opens on Saturday, July 13, 235 tables will  be heaped with over 120,000 books, CDs, DVDs and LPs, all neatly organized and ready to find their new homes.  The sale runs from July 13-17.  For more info go to www.boothbooksale.org.
