Free Movies Continue in 2014 at Edmond Town Hall Theater

Ingersoll Auto Danbury Sponsors New Year of Free Saturday Night Shows

          NEWTOWN Jan. 8 – Edmond Town Hall Theater goers will once again enjoy a free Saturday night movie each month of the new year, courtesy of Ingersoll Auto of Danbury.

            This Saturday night kicks off the year with Delivery Man (PG-13), a dramatic comedy about an underachiever who goes in search of the children he has fathered through anonymous donations to a fertility clinic.

            What began as a way to bring the community together after the events of December 14, 2012, has turned into a strong relationship between this iconic Main Street movie theater and one of the largest auto dealerships in the area.

            “We’ve heard comments from movie goers who are thankful to be able to enjoy a free movie with their families, usually on the second Saturday of the month. They have sent thank you notes to Ingersoll signed by the whole family,” said James Juliano, Chairman of the Edmond Town Hall Board of Managers.

            Any movie goer who goes to the free show will be granted admission until all seats are filled. The 2014 shows will be at 7 p.m. the second Saturday of the month, unless otherwise indicated. Visit www.edmondtownhall.org for more information.

The Edmond Town Hall, completed in 1931 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was a gift from Newtown benefactress Mary Elizabeth Hawley. It has served as the heart of Newtown since its inception by providing residents with governmental services space; affordable family entertainment through its theater; sports opportunities in its gymnasium; and, elegant space rentals to help residents gather or celebrate life events.  Visit edmondtownhall.org for more information.
