Dry needling is a treatment that involves the insertion of filament needles (acupuncture needles) into the muscle in the region of a “trigger point.” The goal is to achieve a local twitch response that releases muscle tension and pain, deactivating the trigger point and restoring normal length function to the muscle. This leads to increased function and decreased pain.

Dr. Popowich is at the forefront of this up-and-coming technique. Dr. Popowich states that there are numerous studies showing the benefits of dry needling for condition such as plantar fasciitis, myofascial pain syndromes, neck pain, headaches and lower back pain. Dr, Popowich has seen the benefits in his clinic with chronic pain patients who could not find relief with other types of treatment but responded favorably with dry needling technique.

In addition to dry needling Dr. Popowich  provides  acupuncture, chiropractic, functional medicine, specializing in chronic pain, treating patients for neck and lower back pain, undiagnosed pain or decreased function, sports injuries, auto vehicle and work related injuries, whiplash, chronic pain, joint pain and more.
