S.H.O.P. Finalizes Passport to Sandy Hook Details

Passport to Sandy Hook Committee chairperson Maribeth Hemingway today announced final details of the Passport to Sandy Hook event.  The 2nd Annual Passport to Sandy Hook will be held on Saturday, October 6 from 11 am –
4pm.

More than 25 Sandy Hook merchants and eateries are
participating in the event.  On October 6, participants will be able to pick up their passport from any of the participating locations.  As they walk from place to place enjoying the treats, samples, discounts or other activities, they will receive a stamp. Completed passports will be entered into a drawing.

The event is organized by Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (S.H.O.P.).  In addition to participating merchants, S.H.O.P thanks Newtown Savings Bank and Andy Sachs and The Around Town Team for their generous sponsorship of this event.

The following highlights have been scheduled for the event:

- Live music by John Voket  starting at 11:30

- Live music by The Bobby Donaldson Band starting at
1:00

- Live broadcast by i95 starting at 1:30

- Special performance by the Graceful Planet Moving Arts
Center at 1:45

- Visit by Baro and the Canine Officer at 2:30

- Drawing for a prize package worth over $2,200 at 4:15

Additionally, visitors are reminded that Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire and Rescue will be sponsoring a “stuff-a-truck” to benefit the FAITH Food Pantry.

“The FAITH Food Pantry had an overwhelming response the last time they asked, but as we head into the colder months, their shelves are emptying again and they need our help,” said Hemingway.  “We would appreciate it if visitors can bring a donation to help us support this cause.”
