The Newtown Knights of Columbus are collecting toys and gifts for this year's "Toy Closet" toy drive. We need toys for all ages, especially teenagers.
The last few years we've distributed toys to local families and regional charities. This year, the need is greater than ever, and our stocks are dwindling.
Please, when you're out shopping for family and friends, consider picking up an extra toy or gift for our cause. Donation boxes are located at St. Rose of Lima Church, 40 Church Hill Road, Sandy Hook CT in the Parish Hall and in the front of the Church, as well as at the Queen Street Cleaners, Sandy Hook Hair Company, and Everything Newtown (formerly the Newtown Drug Center). Also, volunteers will be located outside the Toy Tree in Sandy Hook to accept your donations at the Sandy Hook Tree lighting on Saturday, December 3 from 3:00 until closing.
Distribution night is December 11 from 5:00 to 9:00 at the St. Rose Parish Hall. Local families are invited to come at 5:00, and invited charitable organizations may arrive at 7:00. Thank you for your support, and Merry Christmas!
