Local Resident David Freedman, Newtown worked with a national organization Head Count to raise money for the Sandy Hook School as a result of the tragedy from December 14th. Mr. Freedman worked to secure VIP tickets to Trey Anastasio - founder of the Rock band PHISH. All proceeds will be giving to Newtown United and be allocated for music therapy for the children of Sandy Hook Elementary School.
An initial $1,650 in donations was generated for Newtown United via a VIP ticket auction from upcoming Trey Anastasio Band concerts at the Capitol Theatre in Portchester, NY. The auction was organized by HeadCount, a non-profit organization that works with musicians to increase the power of citizens.
