On October 28th, Newtown resident and member of the Chase Collegiate School Rowing Team, Adam Harrison, faced tough competition at the 42nd Head of The Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia. Although the impending super storm Sandy narrowed the field from 30 to 21 boats, the hardest competitors were there and Chase finished third – taking the bronze medal. The racing was fast as Chase covered the 2.5 mile course in 15:07.83, 22.56 seconds behind the winner, Port Rowing from Long Island. With many hundreds of spectators looking on the boys raced swiftly downstream, navigating five bridges and finishing along historic Boathouse Row just north of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Chase is hosting an Open House on November 18 from 1-3 p.m.
