Every small town has a wealth of human capitol. People who's passion and commitment to the town in which they live can not be measured, but whose contribution has an infinite effect on everyone. For the most part their deeds go unnoticed, their time unpaid, and their commitment becomes a silent and often times private journey.
I had the pleasure recently to sit down with Adam at the . (You can read more about my time with Adam HERE). Aside from serving up a wicked good cheesesteak (trust me I know, I'm originally from Philadelphia) Adam is passionate about giving back to Newtown. After quietly gaining approval from Newtown Social Services, Adam started what he calls, "Shadow of Light", a program that provides a free The Happy Cheesesteak combo meal to any family in need. Simply put, Adam feels fortunate, to live in this town and to own his own business. For Adam, it was an opportunity to give back to the town he loves.
Adam's contribution is sincere and certainly one of the stories of a Newtown resident doing his small part to support his community both as a small business owner and resident.
Do you know anyone in town who is quietly giving back, supporting others, or making Newtown a better place to live? Does that person deserve a quick applause from the rest of us? We want to hear about them.
