Police say they were able to locate in a pond a boy who was reported missing by his parents on Sunday.

A family had a scare on Sunday after their 10-year-old autistic boy went missing in the woods behind their home, police said.

The boy's mother called police shortly before 2 p.m. to report that her son had wandered off from their home on Winton Farm Road, police said.

A short time later, two officers who responded to the area to search Planters Choice, 140 Huntingtown Road spotted the boy in a pond, police said.
