Police: DUI Led to Button Shop Road Accident

Police say a Sandy Hook resident was arrested for driving under the influence after the crash.

 

Police arrested a Sandy Hook resident for driving under the influence after an accident Wednesday afternoon on Button Shop Road.

According to reports, Nicholas Cerreta, 27, failed to drive right on a curve when his car veered over the yellow center line into the left lane and hit a car going in the opposite direction. No injuries were reported, but both cars were towed from the scene.

Cerreta was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Failure to Drive Right on a Curve. He was released on $100 cash bond.

Arrests do not implicate guilt.
